Colon Cleanse

To keep our digestive system working well, we must eat good food (including 20-40 grams of fiber,  drink plenty of water (raw fruit and vegetables are over 90% water),  exercise moderately daily, and keep mentally healthy (low stress and anxiety, high satisfaction and joy).  We sometimes violate some or many of these principles.

With this, our colon may become sluggish or hyperactive, or contracted in places and distended in others.  Either way may present problems.  A colon cleanse can address either problem. Some people prefer a colonic or enema to cleanse the colon.  I prefer working from the inside out.  This involves using bulking agents and herbs.

There are several products for cleansing the colon, that include: mucilage (like pectin), charcoal, clays, and a separate product with cathartics (cape aloe, rhubarb root, senna) and colon strengtheners (cascara sagrada).

There are several good combination products around.  I use the Dr. Christopher 2 part cleanse, with the black powder-#2, and the capsules-#1.  We start with number 1.  Take 1 capsule with dinner the first night.  The second night take 2 capsules.  Keep ramping up until the result is a satisfying bowel movement first thing in the morning.  If it takes 3 capsules, this is your starting number.

Now add one more capsule on the next day and follow the directions on the part 2-the powder.  You are now taking the powder 2 or 3 times a day and taking the capsules.  I you have too loose a bowel movement, cut back by one capsule with dinner.  If you are too tight, add another capsule.  As you go along, you will naturally need fewer capsules.  Decrease as your bowel movement dictates.  Your stool should be somewhat formed, but soft.

Complete both bottles of product. You may need more of one or the other.  It may be good to get extra, incase you want to go longer.  The capsule rate will eventually go down to one, at which time you may complete the process.

Lymph Cleanse

I've tried several versions of this lymphatic cleanse. Dr. Christopher's three-day cleanse can be googled for some of the many variations. I'm putting the variation that I use most. Rather than  apple juice or orange juice, I use the mixed citrus juice as it is lower in sugar.  for this, I use 2 parts grapefruit, 1 part lime or lemon juice, and one part tangelo(hybrid of grapefruit and mandarine.  I doubt the fruits are that important, but oranges are known to be acid forming, and we are looking to alkalize the system.

First thing in the morning upon rising, drink 16 ounces 0r more of prune juice, unsweetened  if possible. The prune juice is not primarily to empty the bowels, which it will do, but rather to draw into the intestines from the lymph, such toxic matter or body waste as there may be there, and eliminated through the bowels.

After beginning with 16 ounces of prune juice, within one hour take 16 ounces of diluted (50/50 with pure water) mixed citrus drink including grapefruit, lemon, lime, and tangelo. Swish each mouthful thoroughly. Then half hour later drink another glass and another and another. Continue this process for the remainder of the day.

Repeat this detoxification for three consecutive days. Thus, approximately 3 gallons of mucus will have been eliminated and was then replaced by 3 gallons of alkaline citrus juice  This has resulted in speeding up the  re-alkalizing of the system.

I use a couple caps of lower bowel herbs with evening meal to aid elimination.  during this three-day cleanse you could also take one or 2 tablespoons of olive oil,  three times a day, mixed in your juice.

This can be used to start another cleanse, like the colon cleanse, or the liver-gallbladder flush.   in fact you could now start a combination of colon cleanse and liver gallbladder flush.
